Ms. Personality contest winner hands down!
Bonita inherited her superior confidence from
both her Sire AND her Dam. She was from a
single pup litter born here at exactly midnight
of December the 8th, 2003. Maybe it
was due to her having all the attention and no
competition in the litter that made her this
confident. I saw this again with Hermania
vom Kerschberger, also a single pup. Then,
of course, they are raised by the pack and when
that is done right, they survive by being
fearless. In order to better the breed the
following three C's I seek.
Confidence, Courage and Character.
The
4th C,
Conformation,
that too I seek, as she has that as well.
Bonita was line bred on Jello von der Wienerau,
known as the 'perfect gaiter'. He
placed 14th in the World Championships.
Bonita is a dead wringer to her Dam Madonna, a
superb example of a German Shepherd female.
The only reason why I didn't title Bonita, is
that I couldn't be without her. As much as
she is deserving, life is too short, and being
without her was, and still is, not an option.
For this reason, pups from an untitled parent,
are offered at a lower price and with limited
AKC registration only. Pups from
this super combination will be highly suitable
for any dog sport such as Schutzhund, IPO,
PSAk9, any AKC sport, and Search and
Rescue, volunteer OR professional,
Assistance dog, or just plain terrific as a
great family companion dog to hang out with
hiking the mountains.

Carrier (A/N)
This dog is
heterozygous A/N, with one mutated copy of the
gene and one normal copy of the gene, and is
classified as a carrier.
In the seven breeds studied at the University
of Missouri in depth so far, dogs with test
results of A/N have never been confirmed to have
DM.
While it is highly unlikely this dog will ever
develop DM, this dog can transmit either the
normal gene or the mutated gene to its
offspring.

Degenerative Myelopathy certification
from the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA)
the chances are slim that the pups will carry the DM

Kerschberger is the
FIRST breeder in the USA to test
their breeding stock for this horrific genetic and
paralyzing disease so to avoid this in future
Kerschberger generations - 21% of German Shepherd tested dogs are
'AT
RISK', which means 1 in 5 dogs born will likely
develop DM. The cost of diagnosis are very
high, and the onset can start as early as 7 years.
No dog we know of has lived more than 16 months
after initial symptoms!!!
