Since both Uschi and Eiko have received the Degenerative Myelopathy certification from the Orhtopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) the chances are slim that the pups will carry the DM gene or develop DM. Kerschberger is the FIRST and so far the ONLY breeder in the USA to test their breeding stock for this horrific genetic and paralizing disease so to avoid this in future Kerschberger generations - 20% of tested dogs are AT RISK, which means 1 in 5 dogs born will likely develop DM. The cost of diagnosis are very high, and the onset can start as early as 7 years. No dog we know of has lived more than 16 months after initial symptoms!!!

She is a SUPER SWEET but HIGH drive and social female who seems to like everyone. She is a Big Momma's girl and loves to play with her pack mates! She is a confident dog and a 'take anywhere' kind of dog, obedient, and sensitive intuitive like a typical well bred German Shepherd. This is Uschi's 2nd litter. She turned five on October 2008. She did very well in whelping her previous O litter.
